Our People

James Scott (Chair), Mike Dee and Trev James are the Trustees at the helm of the Hutt Community Radio & Audio Archives Charitable Trust, which is the entity that runs Hutt Radio. Some CV type experience:

Mike Dee:

Programme Director, founding Trustee and On-Air host.  Also responsible for all Training and technical oversight. Radio Professional since 1974 and RNZ Training School graduate 2nd in class of '75 while Disc Jockey at 2ZM. Progressed to Music Director, Breakfast Host and the Drive Show at 2ZM. Always a top rating host, stations Mike has worked at include a short stint at Radio Waikato (Breakfast), Radio Windy and The Breeze as presenter, Music Director then Programme Director through the mid-80s to early 90s. Mike has always maintained a regular on-air shift even as Programme Director - usually Drive Time. Also helped establish IRN (Independent Radio News) in 1987 as Chief Announcer. Has been involved in establishing Hutt Radio since 1999.

Arriving in the Hutt Valley with parents and siblings in NZ from the UK  in 1965, Mike moved to Wellington while working in radio and moved back to the Hutt Valley after marrying in 1985 and becoming parents in 1992. Mike has four adult children.

Trev James

Trev James is a legend in Wellington having presented his Platter Party almost continuously for 30 years at various stations.

James Scott (Chair)

James is an IT professional, working on Web Sites (including this one!) and is an experienced Project Manager. His CV is extensive and includes Government, NGO and private contracts - many of which require him to travel to overseas clients. James is also an audiophile of long standing and is an experieced audio engineer in the studio and live. He engineers Valley Views every week and assists with Suite 2.

James has lived in the Hutt Valley for many years with his wife and children and is a keen Scottish Country dancer.

We are registered as the "Hutt Community Radio And Audio Archives Charitable Trust" [#1753650]. Our short title is the "Hutt Radio Trust". The Trust has the overall responsibility for all aspects of this community asset.
